Should we celebrate Mother's Day? Galatians 4:10

Question
Should we celebrate Mother's Day? Galatians 4:10
Answer
There is nothing wrong with properly celebrating Mother's Day. We should honor our fathers and mothers (Ex. 20:12) - always. There can be great joy in setting aside a day each year (or more often) for prayer and fellowship. While Paul instructed the Galatians (Gal. 4:10) not to engage in false religious practices, there is nothing in Scripture that says we cannot properly celebrate, for example, birthdays, Mother's Day, or Father's Day, which are not part of the Jewish calendar. Our family celebrates such days on Saturday as Sunday is the Lord's Day (Ex. 20:8-11).

Of course, as stated above, these types of celebrations need to be done obedient to the principles of Scripture and done properly; no celebration should include idolatry. (1 Cor. 10:14-32). Yet, we should not be legalistic about it.
