Can It Get Any Worse?

Question
Do you believe, then, that a non-Christian who dies and is condemened to hell, continues to sin while in hell and therefore is continually being punished to pay for those sins?
Answer
Yes, that is my take on it. Those who are in hell are God's enemies, and they are in a conscious state. Anything they do or think is tainted by sin, and God never ignores sin. Jesus is not their savior, and they cannot repent, so that the only option left is that God punishes them for their sin. Since the Judgment Day has already passed, God is no longer reserving his anger. Rather, hell is the place where he expresses his anger in judgment against sinners. Therefore, it seems to me that the logical conclusion is that sinners in hell receive ongoing punishment for their ongoing sin.
