Question
What did Moses teach about the "latter days" in Deuteronomy 4:27-31?
Answer
Moses used the term "latter days" in Deuteronomy chapter 4 verses 27 though 31. So, what did Moses teach about the latter days in these verses in the book of Deuteronomy? He taught three things, or he prophesied that three things would happen in relation to the latter days. First, he said that the people would rebel against the Lord and, as a result, they would be punished. The exile is the punishment — they would be driven out of the land of Canaan, the Promised Land. Second, when the people would be taken to exile, they would repent. And when the people repented, the third thing would happen to them. The Lord would restore them from the land of their captivity to the land, the land of Canaan, the Promised Land. These are the three things that Moses taught would happen in the latter days in the book of Deuteronomy: rebellion and exile, repentance, and restoration.
