The Holy Spirit in the Westminster Standards?

Question
I'm doing research on the Holy Spirit. How would one study the doctrine of the Holy Spirit from the Westminster Standards? I need assistance with organizing it.
Answer
Thanks for your question. First, I would find every use of the phrase "Holy Spirit" (or "Holy Ghost," or just plain "Spirit" in some cases) in Scripture. Second, I would compare the list I obtained from Scripture to the use of the "Holy Spirit" (or "Ghost") in the Westminster Standards (see chart below). Third, I would read, The Holy Spirit, by Sinclair Ferguson, Saved by Grace: The Holy Spirit's Work in Calling and Regeneration, by Herman Bavinck, The Holy Spirit and Reformed Spirituality: A Tribute to Geoffrey Thomas, by Joel Beeke, The Work of the Holy Spirit, by Abraham Kuyper, and my favorite on this topic, Doctrine of the Holy Spirit, by George Smeaton.

To assist you, consider using J. V. Fesko's chart regarding the Westminster Standards and the Holy Spirit that I have reproduced below. It is well organized and a great aid in understanding the Holy Spirit's role in doctrinal truth.
